1. Who we are
DataShift Tools (“we”, “us”) operates this website. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the limited data described below. You can reach us at contact@datashifttools.com.
2. Files you convert stay on your device
All file conversion runs locally in your browser using native browser APIs such as Canvas, FileReader and Web Workers. Your files are never uploaded to, stored on, or processed by our servers. We cannot access, view or recover the contents of your files.
3. No accounts
We do not require an account, do not use first-party analytics, and do not sell your personal information. However, this site is supported by advertising, which involves third-party cookies as described below.
4. Advertising and third-party cookies
We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These third-party cookies may collect data such as your IP address, device and browser information, and browsing activity. We do not control these cookies. You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time via the consent dialog, or by adjusting your browser settings to block cookies. You can also opt out of personalised advertising using Google Ads Settings or optout.aboutads.info.
6. Server logs and hosting
This site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may automatically process technical data such as your IP address, user-agent, requested URL and timestamp in server logs for the purposes of delivering the site, security and abuse prevention. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable service. Vercel acts as our data processor; more information is available in Vercel’s privacy documentation. Log data is retained only as long as necessary for these purposes.
7. Analytics
We do not use a first-party analytics service. Advertising partners (Google) may collect aggregated or pseudonymous data as described in section 4. If we introduce additional analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent beforehand.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. 9. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
The use of third-party advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA. You have the right to opt out of such sharing. You can do so by declining consent in the consent dialog, by using the opt-out links in section 5, or by emailing us at contact@datashifttools.com. We do not sell personal information for monetary value.
10. Children’s privacy
This service is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
