1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using DataShift Tools (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
The Service provides free, browser-based file conversion and formatting tools. All processing happens locally in your browser and your files are not uploaded to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and only with files you own or are otherwise entitled to process. You must not use the Service to infringe intellectual property rights, to process illegal content, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer (except as permitted by law) or abuse the Service.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the files you process. Because processing is performed in your browser, we never receive your files and claim no rights over them.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that conversions will be accurate, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose. Always keep a backup of your original files.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataShift Tools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
7. Third-party components
The Service uses open-source software, including libheif and libde265 (LGPL-3.0) for HEIC decoding. See our third-party licenses page for attributions and source links. HEIC decoding may involve third-party patent rights; you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with any applicable patent licences.
8. Changes
We may modify or discontinue the Service, and may update these terms, at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
